Submission to the Ofcom Impacts Assessment Review

Over the past few weeks, we at Better Media have been working on putting together a submission to the Ofcom’s consultation on the proposed changes to their Impact Assessment guidance. The existing guidance dates back to 2005 and is severely in need of updating to bring it in line with current legislation and best practice on equality impact assessment. Our submission was completed and submitted on 11th May.

Why Their News Is Bad News – CPBF Programme from 1983

Last week, Better Media was given access to a copy of a TV programme made by the Campaign for Press and Broadcasting Freedom, our predecessor organisation. Titled ‘Why Their News Is Bad News’, the programme was made for the BBC’s Open Door series of community-made features. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to publish the programme, but we found it fascinating and wanted to share some highlights.
